You entered this work to help people. Your heart is to serve people well and to really make a difference. But you also know that meaning well and doing well are two different things. Even if you do not specialize in bringing care to trauma survivors specifically, statistics show that you are encountering them every single day. You know there are those in your care who need you to serve them within the context of their trauma histories, and you long to do this well - to meet them with competence and understanding; to bring healing and not more harm.

“Trauma-informed” has become a buzz word, but is it enough to be informed? Don’t we all long to be more than this? To actually be knowledgeable and competent in serving those who have been traumatized?

After personally encountering re-traumatization at the hands of pastors, anti-trafficking ministries, therapists, friends, family and medical care workers who meant well, but simply did not understand enough about the physical, mental, spiritual and neurological effects of trauma, I am passionate about changing this.

I want to see trauma survivors receive true, meaningful, effective HELP in every place they show up looking for it.

I offer neuroscience-based training on the impacts of trauma and teach church leaders, anti-trafficking organization leaders, adoption and foster care groups, medical and allied health professionals and families best practices in serving trauma survivors in safe, meaningful, productive ways.
